Martin Spirit

The Himalayan Mountains, the jungles of Borneo, combat zones in Iraq, and South Africa…these are just a few of the places that AMS Pictures’ most nomadic Showrunner Martin Spirit can call home. Originally from Jersey, UK, the expat started his career with BBC News, ITV, and the Travel Channel UK before settling in Texas.

Once here, he quickly made a name for himself as one of Dallas’ premier commercial editors/effects artists, specializing in FCP, Smoke, Fire/Henry, and the full Adobe suite. In 2011, Martin was part of the team of editors who produced Vietnam in HD for History Channel. He then became a Showrunner producing and directing nonfiction programs for Discovery Channel, HGTV, History Channel, Destination America, and FOX Sports.

Martin counts amongst his favorites a three-part special about the small-town police who patrol big biker rallies, called Road to Sturgis.  For Most Extreme Airports, a two-hour special for History Channel, Martin accompanied pilots as they guided large commercial and cargo flights in and out of the world’s deadliest airports and weather patterns. He also produced and directed 26 one-hour episodes of The Genesis of Healing and 26 half-hour episodes of The First Step, both for Veria.

In addition to cable network programming, Martin has produced, directed, and edited an array of work for corporate and nonprofit clients, including American Airlines, Metro PCS, Dr. Pepper, Ford, BMW, Home Depot, Autism Speaks, and ESPN.
