Who We Are
Mark McGovern
Mark McGovern
Vice President of Creative Services

In his nearly 30 years as a media professional, Mark McGovern has learned the communications business from bottom to top….literally. Today he is recognized by his peers and by the clients he serves as one of the top creative talents in the industry.

Mark started his television life in Portland, Oregon where he developed the TV bug after visiting the local NBC affiliate as a teenager.  After gaining his RTF degree from Mt. Hood College, he headed for the last frontier – Alaska – where he continued his studies at the University of Alaska and worked for the ABC affiliate in Anchorage as a cameraman and promotions producer.  When it was time to thaw out, Mark made his way to Seattle for a brief freelance stint in sports production and then on to Dallas, Texas in 1986, working first in television and then joining AMS Pictures in 1988.

As a creative leader and innovator for large media projects, Mark thrives on the energy and intense focus that creative development and team building generates. In his 22 years at AMS Pictures, Mark has grown right along with the company, beginning as an editor and working his way up to project manager and director. From the creation of dynamic commercial advertising projects for companies like Frito-Lay to working with airplane models on the hit children’s series Jay Jay the Jet Plane, nothing gets him more jazzed than the collaboration between client and production agency in bringing big ideas to life.

As Vice President and Senior Creative Director, Mark manages a talented team of writers, producers, and project managers focusing on a full range of needs for corporate and agency clients, including sales and marketing programs, advertising and image pieces. Mark regularly oversees high-impact projects and marketing films for a variety of clients, who all agree he’s a genuinely nice guy. Really.
